What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is traditional Chinese medicine practiced
for thousands of years in China and other Eastern countries. Since making its way West, it has quickly become one of the fastest
growing alternative therapies and is often used to complement and enhance the benefits of traditional medicine. In a recent
study, among pain management specialists, it was found that approximately 80% of doctors use acupuncture in their own
clinics or refer to nearby acupuncturists to compliment their treatments for chronic pain. Acupuncture subscribes to the ancient
view that the basis of good health is the harmonious balance of qi (chi), the vital life force that empowers the body. When
the qi can flow freely, health abounds. If the energy becomes stagnant or blocked, then the effects will result in loss of
energy and deterioration of well-being. The acupuncturist's goal is to release blocked energy by applying sterilized needles,
or laser, to key points on the body to restore balance and improve health and energy.
Is Acupuncture painful?
Acupuncture in our office is not painful;
in fact, most people find it very relaxing. We utilize a variety of methods to stimulate Acupuncture points including needles
(sterile, single-use/disposable), laser, electrical stimulation, and acupressure. If a person is averse to needles, the other
methods of stimulation are equally effective. Pain relief is the number one use of Acupuncture in our office. If you speak
to someone who says they had Acupuncture and it was a painful experience, you may want to try laser acupuncture here in our
office. We utilize a style of Acupuncture which relieves pain, and doesn't cause it.

How long should I stay on a herbal program?
Chinese herbal medicine is 'whole food' therefore it takes longer to actually
see effects. Some people will see results within a month, whereas others who are addressing long term issues, may need to
stay on a program for 6 months or longer. However, it is important to understand that the results will not be noted for 4
to 6 weeks in most cases.
Are there any side effects?
Most people do not experience side effects. However, use your body as a guide.
If you experience discomfort, skin irritations or any other symptom then reduce the dosage by one capsule per dosage, 3 times
a day and monitor your reaction. As with all herbal remedies, we recommend you check with your primary care physician if you
are pregnant, nursing or have high blood pressure. These formulas are not intended for children unless prescribed by your doctor.
